Thirty years inside the machinery.
Hostile Solutions is not a career pivot into AI. It is the same discipline applied to a new class of system: establish how it actually works, reconstruct the evidence chain, test the mechanism, and make the result defensible.
My career began in 1993 and has moved through finance, financial systems, institutional treasury, transformation, quantitative research and now frontier AI and agentic systems.
The problem existed before the model.
I learned the discipline of reconstruction in environments where the documentation was incomplete, the systems were already in production, and the answer could not be invented without consequences.
At Bradford & Bingley, I developed advanced subprime risk models and financial product mathematics, including teaser-rate and extreme-LTV structures. I also worked on securitisation data integrity and governance and documented the systemic-risk implications of the structure before the 2008 crisis.
That experience matters to Hostile Solutions because it established the rule that still governs the work: do not begin with the story. Begin with the mechanism and the evidence.
A continuous line from financial reporting to forensic AI.
The roles changed. The underlying discipline remained: understand the system, reconstruct what is actually happening, test it against evidence, and turn the result into something an organisation can act on.
The foundation: financial control, reporting logic and the practical mechanics of turning operational data into decisions.
Financial systems work expanded into reporting architecture and analytical models used to evaluate products against market size and pricing.
Developed advanced subprime risk models and structures, including teaser-rate and extreme-LTV products, and documented systemic-risk implications before the 2008 crisis.
Integrated source data, payment-card activity, IP addresses and customer behaviour; built BI analysing approximately 1.4 million transactions monthly, reduced chargeback contestation by 80%, and compressed reporting from six working days to the first working day.
Led financial BI across London, Chicago, New York and Singapore; directed trading-platform migration and reporting deployment and oversaw retro-engineering and technical documentation of existing reporting environments.
Reconstructed 40+ ledgers, 10,000+ product lines and 5,000+ MI reports at Travelex; directed global BI strategy for a division with P&L above $180m at Ciena; and reverse-engineered undocumented banking/reporting environments for migration and transformation programmes.
Led solution design, legacy analysis, reporting architecture and delivery across Salesforce, Finance, Human Capital, Azure, Power BI and SQL environments, with repeated emphasis on reconstructing what already existed before specifying what should replace it.
Developed a project-timeline compression approach combining transcription, rapid requirements extraction, existing-report review, documentation analysis and targeted code/report modification to reduce conventional BA/development overhead.
Established The Lab as an independent forensic research programme in May 2026 and founded Hostile Solutions in June 2026 to operationalise forensic reconstruction, adversarial analysis, quantitative research and controlled AI delivery.
The record is measurable.
A practitioner page should not ask you to take expertise on faith. These are selected outputs and scale indicators from the career record.
This is what the next chapter looks like.
Hostile Solutions is the commercial practice. The Lab is the research programme. Noetic Forensics / nOS is the technical forensic platform. The common thread is the same: evidence, mechanism, provenance, verification and controlled delivery.
Operationalises forensic reconstruction, adversarial analysis, quantitative research and controlled AI delivery for documents, models, decision chains and analytical systems.
Primary-source, falsification-first research across financial markets, corporate finance, AI and complex theses using hand-verified data, auditable formulas, explicit assumptions and versioned publication.
17 specialised modules with JSON/YAML contracts, deterministic fixtures, CI validation, RAG patterns, bias-audit checkpoints, provenance and release governance.
Frontier-model integration, agentic workflows, API development and verification/reproducibility controls designed to keep model-assisted judgement inside explicit evidence boundaries.
The work is published because the record should be inspectable.
The research portfolio spans Bitcoin treasury structures, quantitative market analysis, perpetual-futures mechanics, analytical methodology and AI-assisted forensic risk.
Forensic analysis of UK corporate Bitcoin treasury structures, including legal, fiduciary, accounting, tax, governance and decision-support considerations.
Research record →A forensic framework interrogating assumptions, dependencies, probabilities and break conditions behind the Bitcoin $1m thesis.
Research record →Operational framework examining BTC perpetual-futures structure, liquidation mechanics, funding, leverage and positioning, implemented through a 17-module market-intelligence dashboard.
Research record →A book on trading position construction with seven browser-native companion tools and a Position Control Panel hub.
Research record →365-day empirical study across 11 perpetual-futures exchanges using 13,800+ observations and $176.6bn of recorded forced position exits, with five original analytical metrics.
DOI →Quantitative critique of Bitcoin price power-law models covering stationarity, causal inference, boundary conditions, regime segmentation, Bayesian inference and effective sample size.
DOI →Working paper examining structural prompt-injection risk in AI-assisted forensic document analysis and developing an enforced-versus-asserted control model.
Weekly paid intelligence publication monitoring five named signal architectures through a direction-agnostic risk-signal framework.
The toolkit is deliberately cross-disciplinary.
The work sits at the intersection of finance, systems, data and AI rather than inside any single software category.
Formal qualifications sit underneath the practical record.
The career has always combined finance with technology rather than treating them as separate disciplines.
The biography is not the evidence. The record is.
The research, working papers, technical material and published analysis are maintained separately so that the work can be inspected on its own terms.
